Recommended browsers
For the smoothest experience, use the latest version of Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox. Current browsers tend to handle image processing, clipboard input, layer rendering, and export more reliably.
Image will not import? Check these first.
- Make sure the file is not corrupted and uses a common format such as JPG, PNG, or WEBP.
- Very large images may fail to load on lower-memory mobile devices.
- Browser extensions, privacy settings, or network rules may be blocking file access.
- Updating your browser can fix issues caused by older engines or incomplete feature support.
Frequently asked questions
Why does WebPS not require an account?
Most image edits are quick, task-based jobs. The product is designed so you can open the editor and start immediately instead of stopping for registration.
Are local images uploaded to the server?
No. Local images are handled in the browser during normal editing. Opening a file does not automatically send it to a server. See the privacy page for more detail.
Which export format should I choose?
Use PNG when you need transparency, WEBP for a strong quality-to-size balance, JPG for photo-style images, and JSON if you want to keep the layered project editable.
What if large images feel slow?
High-resolution files use more browser memory and device resources. Try reducing canvas dimensions first, closing other heavy tabs, or using the latest browser on desktop for better performance.
