Get started with WebPS and finish common edits faster.

This page covers the most useful workflows first, so new users can get comfortable quickly.

Getting started

  • Click “Open Editor” from the home page or go straight to the editor.
  • You can import images by opening a file, dragging one into the page, or pasting a screenshot.
  • For the best experience, use the latest version of Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox.

Common use cases

1. Quick crop and export

Ideal for thumbnails, covers, and simple visual assets that need a fast resize and save.

2. Screenshot annotation

Add text, arrows, and shapes to explain a step, highlight an issue, or leave feedback clearly.

3. Simple poster layout

Build a lightweight layout with a title, image, spacing, and basic visual hierarchy.

4. Fast product image cleanup

Crop, rotate, and adjust brightness or contrast to make product visuals cleaner and easier to use.

Layer tips

  • Keep the background, text, and decorative elements on separate layers when possible.
  • Duplicate useful elements such as titles or buttons instead of rebuilding them every time.
  • Save a JSON project file if you plan to return later, or export PNG/JPG when you only need the final image.

Choosing the right export format

  • Need transparency → choose PNG.
  • Want a good quality-to-size balance → WEBP is usually the better choice.
  • Working with photos or large image files → JPG is often the most practical format.
  • Need to preserve the editing state → save a layered JSON project file.

Simple ways to work faster

  • Dragging an image directly into the browser is usually the fastest way to begin.
  • Pasting screenshots saves time when you do not want to create a file first.
  • Select the target layer before editing to reduce mistakes.
  • Set your canvas size before arranging text and graphics for cover designs or banners.
